Rest N Go is an independent engineering studio. We work as a focused counterpart to product and infrastructure teams that need to build systems worth keeping. This page describes how we operate and what we hold ourselves to.

Build software worth inheriting.
Our mission is to design and deliver systems that a client's own engineering team can maintain, extend, and operate with confidence long after the engagement ends. We treat every codebase as something someone else will have to read on a difficult morning.
02 / Vision
Technology that fades into the background.
We believe the best software becomes invisible: it removes friction, records what happened, and does what it says it will do. Our long-term ambition is to help more organisations reach that state without accumulating unnecessary complexity in the process.

Craft, honesty, restraint.
We favour written thinking over meetings, small teams over large ones, and boring infrastructure over novel infrastructure. When we disagree with a client's technical direction we say so, and we explain why in terms that are useful rather than defensive.

Fewer tools, used well.
We standardise on a deliberately narrow stack across TypeScript, Python, Go, and the major cloud platforms. This lets us move quickly because our familiarity is real, not aspirational, and it keeps operational surface area small enough for a single team to reason about.

Senior, generalist, opinionated.
Every engagement is staffed with engineers who have shipped and operated production systems. We work in the open with clients, we do not hide behind account managers, and we expect the same directness in return.

Fewer projects, real attention.
We take on a limited number of engagements at any one time so that each receives serious senior involvement. When we commit to a scope, we own it end-to-end, including the operational aftermath.
07 / Quality standards
Reviewed, tested, observable.
Every service we ship carries automated tests, a deployment pipeline, structured logs, and runtime metrics as a baseline. Code review is non-negotiable, and design decisions leave written records so future readers understand the reasoning.
08 / Security principles
Security is a design property.
We treat identity, secrets, data protection, and incident readiness as first-class concerns from the earliest architectural conversations. Threat modelling, dependency review, and least-privilege access are part of the standard workflow, not an afterthought.

A studio that lasts.
We are building Rest N Go as a durable practice: profitable, focused, and small enough to stay honest. Growth is measured in the strength of relationships we keep and the systems we continue to look after over many years, not in headcount.
